Emotional Intelligence: Ability to Control Feelings

How do we feel? Emotional intelligence is the ability to understand oneself and others. It has several components, including: emotional literacy, intrinsic motivation, optimism, empathy. According to research, Lithuanians are the least empathetic people in the world (Chopik, W.J., et al., 2017). Emotional intelligence is nurtured and even contagious. During the forum, we will present practical approaches to the development of emotional intelligence in everyday activities. Together, we will create the momentum for better self-knowledge and a positive relationship with those around us. You can find a list of related speakers and panelists here.

Neuroeducation: The Key to Extraordinary

How does the brain learn? Right thoughts make the right actions. But how do thoughts develop in our brains? This is one of the major questions in neuroscience (Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences, 2018). How much control do we have over our minds? How strongly is our intelligence limited by our genes? To what extent can we influence the values formed in early childhood? How strongly is our thinking influenced by the environment? Can education alone have enough influence on our thoughts? The forum will look at these and other thinking-related issues and provide solutions and suggestions for developing thinking and making it efficient. You can find a list of related speakers and panelists here.

Artificial Intelligence: Human-Machine Symbiosis

How do we get along with robots? Rapid advances in artificial intelligence raise concerns among scientists, politicians and ethics practitioners (Helbing D., 2018). Ordinary machine learning programs already are beyond human understanding. Computer learning through its trillions of cycles, in many cases, outstrips human abilities. The forum will discuss how this will change our daily lives, the labour market and, most importantly, how the education system must adapt. The top-notch expert of Artificial Intelligence will provide practical tools and techniques that can be applied to our day-to-day operations and guidelines to keep abreast of progress. You can find a list of related speakers and panelists here.

Getting Familiar with Advanced Organisations

Business should be an integral partner of schools - it can help students better understand the needs of the 21st century labor market, the challenges at work and the competences needed to acquire it. In business enterprises, students can see what would be hard to know otherwise - how different technological processes are implemented, work is organized, new products are created and introduced to the market. Guided tours of companies, working in their laboratories and familiarizing themselves with the technological processes being developed in business should become a regular rather than commemorative practice of the school.
